What it is

This project lets you play Dead Rising 2: Case Zero (Capcom / Blue Castle Games, 2010, the Xbox 360 exclusive prologue to Dead Rising 2) natively on Windows, Linux, Steam Deck and Apple Silicon Macs. It is not an emulator: the Xbox 360 code was translated ahead of time with XenonRecomp and XenosRecomp into a native program with a Vulkan renderer, real XMA audio and native keyboard and mouse support.

According to the README, the game is 100% playable from start to finish, solo and in two-player online co-op, and 1.1.3 (October 2026) is the final release. To use the online features you must download it from the XenonLive launcher. It is not an emulator and it does not include any game assets: you must provide the data from your own copy.

Port or emulator?

If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a Microsoft Xbox 360 emulator: xenia and its install and setup guide.
