An online multiplayer project for the Super Mario 64 PC port that synchronizes enemies and levels between players, with a Lua API for mods.
sm64coopdx is an online multiplayer project for the Super Mario 64 PC port that synchronizes all entities and every level for multiple players. It was started by the Coop Deluxe Team to actively maintain and improve, but also continue, sm64ex-coop, created by djoslin0. Unlike previous multiplayer projects, it synchronizes enemies and events, so players interact with the same world at the same time.
Over time the goal evolved from a simple multiplayer mod to constantly maintaining and improving the project, notably its Lua API: it is moddable via Lua, like Roblox and Garry’s Mod, and documentation is available to get started. You need your own Super Mario 64 ROM that you obtained from your own cartridge. GigaROM hosts neither the program nor the ROM; the download comes from the official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
