A community project that maintains and improves the Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast engine with full compatibility with the game and mods. You need Jedi Academy installed.
OpenJK is a community effort to maintain and improve the game and engine powering Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast, while keeping full backwards compatibility with existing games and mods. It does not intend to add major features or rebalance the game: it aims to improve stability and performance, support more hardware (x86_64, Arm, Apple Silicon) and systems (Linux, macOS) and provide a clean base for modifications. It is licensed under GPLv2.
According to the project, Jedi Academy is stable in single player and multiplayer; Jedi Outcast works but needs attention and its multiplayer is not supported (JK2MV is recommended). You need Jedi Academy installed. GigaROM hosts neither the engine nor the game.
