A complete decompilation of Retro Engine v3 that runs Sonic CD (2011) natively, with a sharp image, remappable controls and a mod loader. You need the official assets.
RSDKv3 Decompilation is a complete decompilation of Retro Engine v3 that lets you run Sonic CD (the 2011 release) natively on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android. Compared with the official PC version it offers a sharp pixel-perfect display, fully remappable controls via settings.ini, window shortcuts and support for the mobile and updated scripts; compared with the mobile versions it uses the PC rendering backend and supports palettes (such as Tidal Tempest’s water). It also includes a built-in mod loader.
Without the assets from an official release it will not run: you must buy or officially download the game (Steam, Epic Games Store or Sonic Origins, Nintendo Switch, iOS or Android) and extract its data. GigaROM hosts neither the engine nor the game; the download comes from the official page.
settings.ini.If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
