A fan-made widescreen remaster of Sonic 3 & Knuckles for PC, built on the Oxygen engine. You need a compatible Sonic 3 & Knuckles ROM.
Sonic 3 A.I.R. (Angel Island Revisited) is a fan-made, widescreen remaster of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The project publishes the source code and the data for the game and the Oxygen engine, which emulates the aspects of Mega Drive hardware needed to run it. The official site is sonic3air.org and offers the stable version for Windows.
Before downloading, the project notes you need a compatible Sonic 3 & Knuckles ROM, such as the one from the Steam release. The remastered soundtrack is no longer included and is downloaded from the options menu. It is a non-profit project, not affiliated with SEGA.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
