What it is

OpenSC2K is an open-source remake of SimCity 2000 built with Rust and Godot. The simulation, file formats, rendering, audio and scripting are native libraries written in Rust. There are packages for Windows (x64 and arm64), Linux (x64 and arm64) and macOS (one app for Intel and Apple Silicon), with nightly builds, and the packages already include the engine: you do not need to install Godot. The project has a Discord community.

You need your own copy of SimCity 2000 for the game files. GigaROM hosts neither the remake nor the game; the download comes from the official page.

What you need

Your original copy: Your own copy of SimCity 2000 (its game files). The project does not include game data.

Port or emulator?

If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
