Mega Man X5 (USA, SLUS-01334) recompiled into a native executable with PSXRecomp, in alpha with experimental co-op. It includes no disc or BIOS.
MegaManX5Recomp statically recompiles Mega Man X5 (USA, SLUS-01334) into a native PC executable with PSXRecomp, the same framework behind TombaRecomp and MegaManX6Recomp. The game’s MIPS code is translated ahead of time to C and compiled into a real program that runs the game’s logic on a faithful simulation of PS1 hardware (GPU, SPU, GTE and memory cards) and the recompiled BIOS, with no high-level emulation shims.
The author presents it as an in-development preview, not a finished port, and its latest release (0.2.0) is an alpha with experimental co-op. The repository contains neither the disc nor the BIOS: they are produced locally from your own assets. GigaROM hosts neither the port nor the game; the download comes from the official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
