Mario Kart 64 statically recompiled as a native port with improvements such as widescreen and high frame rates. You need your own North American copy of the game.
MarioKart 64: Recompiled uses N64: Recompiled to recompile Mario Kart 64 into a native PC port. The graphics engine is RT64, which adds improvements such as high frame rates and widescreen and ultrawide support. It works as a “plug and play” install: you point to your copy in the main menu and the program loads the assets itself.
The project contains no game assets. GigaROM hosts neither the port nor the game; the download comes from the project’s official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
