An open-source engine for Heroes of Might and Magic III with interface improvements, mod support, a launcher and multiplayer, for Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android.
VCMI is an open-source engine for Heroes of Might and Magic III that offers new possibilities: interface improvements (high resolutions, stack queue, creature window), mod support to add towns, creatures, heroes, artifacts and spells without conflicts, a launcher that downloads and installs mods from its server, and a global lobby for online play. It runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android.
To use VCMI you need to own the original game’s data files. GigaROM hosts neither the engine nor the game; the download comes from the official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
