An open-source project that fixes, enhances and modernizes Dungeon Keeper, with high resolutions, higher fps, modernized controls, improved AI and extra campaigns. For Windows.
KeeperFX (Dungeon Keeper Fan eXpansion) is an open-source project that aims to fix, enhance and modernize the classic dungeon management game Dungeon Keeper while staying true to its spirit. It started as a decompilation project, but now the whole codebase has been remade and all code rewritten. It is a standalone game that requires a copy of the original game files as proof of ownership; they can be copied automatically from your old CDs or from a digital edition such as EA’s or GOG’s.
Features include Windows 7/10/11 support, higher resolutions, higher FPS with decoupled graphics and game logic, modernized controls, many bugfixes, map, campaign and modding customizability, improved AI, a modern multiplayer protocol and additional campaigns, maps and creatures. GigaROM does not host the game; the download comes from the official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
