A static recompilation of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (SNES) into native desktop apps for Windows and macOS, with optional Donkey and Kiddy.
DKC2Recomp is a static recompilation of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest for SNES into native desktop applications built with the snesrecomp framework. There are builds for Windows and for Apple Silicon macOS; the Mac app includes a native menu, a Dock icon and exact frame pacing. It is a community recompilation, not an official port, and began as a proving ground for the framework.
You can optionally play as Donkey Kong and Kiddy Kong instead of Diddy and Dixie (from the pause menu, “Characters”), and version 0.0.8 fixes co-op. You need your own ROM: GigaROM hosts neither the port nor the game and the download is from the official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
