Diablo on PC: DevilutionX

DevilutionX is a port of Diablo and Hellfire that aims to make the game simple to run, with engine improvements, bug fixes and optional quality-of-life features (for example health and XP bars or widescreen, which can be enabled or disabled). It runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and iOS, and offers tools and a good starting point for mods.

You need the data from your original copy: the DIABDAT.MPQ file. GigaROM hosts neither the port nor the game; the download comes from the official page.

• Windows, Linux, macOS, Android or iOS.
• The DIABDAT.MPQ file from your original CD or your Diablo install (for example from GoG or Battle.net).
• For Hellfire: hellfire.mpq, hfmonk.mpq, hfmusic.mpq and hfvoice.mpq.

1. Download the latest release from the official page (“Go to official project” button) and extract it.
2. Copy DIABDAT.MPQ into the DevilutionX folder (and the Hellfire files if you want the expansion).
3. Open DevilutionX and play. The project manual details the available features.

• It will not start without the original game’s data; with spawn.mpq from the shareware version you can only play the shareware portion.
• The repository’s license is not a standard one: check the license file.
