An open-source recreation of Daggerfall in the Unity engine, with high-resolution widescreen, an optional retro mode, hundreds of fixes and extensive mod support.
Daggerfall Unity is an open-source recreation of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall in the Unity engine, created by Daggerfall Workshop. It keeps the original’s charm with hundreds of fixes, quality-of-life enhancements and extensive mod support. It runs on Windows, Linux and macOS without emulation, with high-resolution widescreen in a classic style, huge draw distances, smooth first-person controls and, optionally, a retro mode (320x200 or 640x400 with VGA palettes).
It requires a free copy of DOS Daggerfall, which supplies all the assets (textures, 3D models and sounds); you can get it from Steam. GigaROM hosts neither the engine nor the game; the download comes from the official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
