An open-source version of Caesar 3 with the same game logic as the original, widescreen and interface improvements, for several platforms. You need the original’s files.
Julius is a fully working open-source version of Caesar 3, with the same logic as the original but with some UI enhancements, that can be played on multiple platforms. Its goal is exactly the same game logic and the same look and feel as Caesar 3: saved games are 100% compatible and any gameplay bugs in the original will also be present. It adds support for widescreen resolutions, windowed mode on 32-bit desktops, many small in-game quality-of-life improvements and support for the high-quality MP3 files once provided on the Sierra website.
It will not run without the original Caesar 3 files: you can buy a digital copy from GOG or Steam, or use the original CD-ROM. There are builds for Windows, Linux (AppImage), macOS and Android, among others. GigaROM does not host the game; the download comes from the official page.
If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
