WindowsLinuxmacOSAndroid

What it is

Augustus is a fork of the Julius project that incorporates gameplay changes: its aim is to provide enhanced, customizable gameplay for Caesar 3 using Julius’s UI enhancements. It can load Caesar 3 and Julius saves, but saves made with Augustus will not work outside Augustus. Improvements include roadblocks, market special orders, a global labour pool and partial warehouse storage, among others.

The community shares maps, campaigns and scenarios, and there are builds for Windows (64 and 32 bit), Linux (AppImage and Flatpak), Mac, Android and consoles, plus a browser version. In every case a valid Caesar 3 installation is required. GigaROM does not host the game; the download comes from the official page.

Port or emulator?

If your computer does not meet the requirements, you do not have the exact version the port asks for, or you prefer the classic route, you can play the original with a console emulator: see emulators and its install and setup guide.
