What it is

BStone is an unofficial source port of the Blake Stone series (Aliens Of Gold and Planet Strike). Its documentation covers installation on Windows (GOG and Steam, or generic), addons, required assets, the player profile, audio with OpenAL, external textures (aspect ratio, transparency, file formats), taking screenshots and compiling on Linux and MinGW. It includes a list of add-ons for Aliens Of Gold and for Planet Strike.

You need the assets from your copy of the game. GigaROM hosts neither the port nor the game; the download comes from the official page.

What you need

Your original copy: The assets from your copy of Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold or Planet Strike. The project does not include game data.
  • Windows, Linux or macOS.
  • The assets from your copy of Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold or Planet Strike (for example, from GOG or Steam).

How to install and run it

  1. Download the latest release from the official page (“Go to official project” button).
  2. Follow the README’s installation section for your system (GOG/Steam or generic) and point it to the game’s assets.
  3. Open BStone and, if you like, install add-ons.

Current limitations

  • It is an unofficial port.
  • The repository’s license is not a standard one: check the license file.
