Each project asks for the exact game version it supports (region and revision). The page tells you which one.
Use the “Go to the official project” button on the page. Never download ports from sites that bundle the game.
The installer extracts the assets from your copy and leaves the game ready to run on your PC.
| Native port | Emulator | |
|---|---|---|
| What it runs | The game program rebuilt for the target platform. | The whole console, imitated in software. |
| Enhancements | Often offers higher resolution, higher frame rates and new options. | Depends on the emulator; usually lets you raise the resolution. |
| Compatibility | A single game, almost always one specific version. | Many titles from the same console. |
| Your original copy | Required (the project includes no data). | You need the game in any case. |
| Maturity | Each project differs: playable, beta or in development. | Long-running, well-tested projects. |
