Sword of Mana is the enhanced 2003 Game Boy Advance remake of the first game in the Mana series: Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (Final Fantasy Adventure in North America and Mystic Quest in Europe). The remake changes the plot and many aspects of the original's gameplay.
It is a real-time action RPG with an overhead view, in the style of the series.
Real-time combat: enemies are fought directly on the map, with no separate battle screens.
Ring Command menu: the series' menu system, which opens as a circle around the character.
Companions: you are joined by the protagonist you did not choose or by temporary characters, and at any point in battle you can take direct control of the other party member.
