The Invincible Iron Man is a side-scrolling action and shooting game for Game Boy Advance, based on the Marvel character. Tony Stark discovers that his Iron Man armor has been stolen and must recover it. It was the character's first appearance on a handheld console.
It is a run and gun with eight levels spread across four environments and three boss fights.
Repulsors and energy: Iron Man fires the repulsors in his gauntlets, which draw on an energy gauge; charged shots cost more. Energy refills over time or from energy balls.
Upgrades: power orbs unlock a chest cannon and a bomb that clears the screen.
Movement: by combining a shoulder tackle with a jump, Iron Man can make short flights.
Story and extras: Tony follows the trail of the stolen armor, faces his cousin Morgan Stark, the Blizzard and the Crimson Dynamo, and hidden portraits unlock artwork.
Developer: Torus Games.
Publisher: Activision, in December 2002 in North America.
Genre: 2D action and shooting. Critics compared it to Mega Man and gave it mixed reviews.
